Samuel Fisk (Great Grandfather)Sam enlisted in the 1st A.I.F on the 15th August (Service Number - Q69201). Sam arrived in France on the 24.11.1916. He was appointed Sergent Major in France on the 1.6.1917. He was in Hospital in France on the 15.11.1917.
Sam was invalided back to England suffering from Nephritis (this condition of swelling of the kidneys associated with gas poisoning) contracted in the trenches in France. He was sent to Harefield Hospital in London.
He was discharged from Harefield Hospital and sent to a Military hospital in Brisbane Kangaroo Point
